Can I visit anytime? Do I have to tell anyone I am coming?

No, we are always happy to see guests, announced or unannounced. You’ll always be warmly welcomed.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

Just bring yourself. A pen might be handy too.

Is there a dress code?

We strive for business casual, but we know that’s not always possible.

How long may I attend as a guest?

You may attend up to four meetings before we ask that you attend as a member. This should give you ample time to decide if Toastmasters is for you.

I’m really shy. Will Toastmasters help me?

Toastmasters is a safe, encouraging environment where you can practice the social or business skills you feel you need to work on.

How much does being a member cost?

Membership in Barrie Toastmasters Club costs 90$ per six months. There is a one-time fee of $30 to register with Toastmasters International.

When does the Toastmasters course start?

There is no course. Toastmasters is a self-paced, self-directed program that allows you to progress at your own schedule. You may start anytime and complete projects and speeches as it is convenient to you.

Is Toastmasters all about public speaking?

No, Toastmasters is more than just public speaking. You will learn leadership in organizing meetings, special events, mentoring, listening skills and much, much more.
